Keywords:
Bioorganic chemistry, biosensors, inhibitor design, DNA based devices, fluorescence signaling, protein mimicry, supra-molecular structures.
Research:
In living organisms information is transferred and processed using dynamic, non-covalent interactions between proteins and molecular or ionic substrates. The research in my group is focused on the design of synthetic receptors that, in similar to proteins, could interact with various biomolecules and regulate the natural signal transduction processes. Supra-molecular structures based on synthetic molecules, DNA fragments, metal-complexes as well as light harvesting groups will be applied in the development of ‘smart’ sensors, unconventional therapeutics, drug delivery systems and molecular-based devices.
Available positions:
M.Sc. and Ph.D. student positions, as well as postdoctoral positions are available for students who wish to conduct an interdisciplinary research with emphasis on bio-organic chemistry.
